The Austin John Brown Collection is made up of nearly half a million colour photographs, primarily aviation. This includes black-and-white archives dating back to the dawn of aviation. These were captured by professional photographer and pilot Austin John Brown LBIPP, contributors and archives that were bequeathed to him. Photographs have been used for advertisement campaigns (e.g. British Airways), packaging (e.g. Players Cigarettes), book covers (e.g. Too Close to the Sun), illistrated books (e.g. The Military History Book by Dorling Kindersley), newspaper articles and magazines (e.g. Flyer Magazine). This website includes information about the collection including previous projects and a biography of Austin John Brown. There are also links to his work to view and purchase as well as contact information if you have any questions or special requests. |
To me, as a fellow photographer, I would rate him as possibly one of the best aviation photographers in the world, his air-to-air shots were just stunning.” |
